In the previous post I've introduced the RISE - ReDesign in Social Enterprise training programme starting in March.
In this post I want to give you more information about the dates, locations, the time commitment in taking this course.
We will run the RISE programme in three locations in Dublin.
Every Tuesday in City Centre, Dublin BIC (24th of March - 9th of June)
Every Wednesday in South Dublin, (Tallaght) Partas (11 March - 27 of May)
Every Thursday in North Dublin, (Ballymun) Innovate Dublin (18th of March - 4th of June)*
The overall length of the course is 12 weeks, in which participants will actively take part in six training sessions, six labs and 4 hours of one-to-one coaching.
The training sessions take place every second week between 9am and 2pm.
Labs occur every second week (alternating with training sessions) between 10 am to 1pm.
One-to-one coaching must be arranged between the student and the coach.
The six training modules:
MODULE 1: Design Brief & Value Proposition Participants prepare a brief outlining the desired impact, value-add and benefit they seek to achieve through the remainder of the process. They are encouraged to set aside previously held assumptions, beliefs and preferences in framing the social problem and concerns being addressed.
MODULE 2: Research Participants design a research methodology and process, incorporating extensive end-user “empathy-based” interviews, journey-mapping and an end-user persona analysis.
MODULE 3: Brainstorming & Creative Sessions Participants use a range of “disruptive” brainstorming techniques to devise innovative (and frequently collaborative) approaches to the problem statements from the previous modules.
MODULE 4: Prototyping/Testing Multiple prototypes are created and tested to replace/ generate new income streams. Early adoption, experimentation and revision are encouraged.
MODULE 5: The Impact-Based Business Model An Impact-Based, Value-Added business canvas is created for successful prototypes. Leadership, human-resource and sales/ fundraising issues are explored and analysed.
MODULE 6: Business Plan & Finance A business plan, human resource plan, board/ governance support programme and financing programme are developed.
Beside the training, the labs and the coaching, the RISE program aims at creating a supportive community of social enterprises supporting one another by sharing ideas and learning together about the role of creativity and design in business innovation.

*For technical reasons, the first two sessions in Ballymun (Innovate Dublin) will take place on a Wednesday rather than a Thursday.
Hi Claire, thanks so much for the comment, I'm glad you found the video inspiring :)
Also, thanks for your question about the other trainers and mentors, we need at this stage to introduce them.
I circulated an email asking all the facilitators to briefly introduce themselves and their role in the course here in the Social Entrepreneurship programme of the EDGE Community: https://www.theedgedublin.com/community/social-entrepreneurship/social-entrepreneurship-programme-dublin-2020
As we are approaching the beginning of our design journey together, I'd love if you could introduce yourself under the Social Entrepreneurship category of the Edge community here: https://www.theedgedublin.com/community/social-entrepreneurship/hi-my-name-is-and-i-work-on
Please fell free to use the online community to ask questions, share info and events that might be of interest to other social minded businesses.
Cheers :)
Hello Stefano, that video is very inspiring. I know you are covering the design side of work. Can you tell me please about the other trainers/coaches? Thanks in advance.
Hi Ecem, my bad, it was on the previous post, but also you can find it in the brochure, the RISE training programme is fully subsidised from the Dormant Accounts Fund for successful applicants :)
Hello, could you give information regarding the program fee? Thanks!
